Horizontal Expanding Machine (Wheel Rim Expander Press)
Wheel rim expanding machine used in steel wheel production line to size the wheel rim
The horizontal expanding machine is used in the steel wheel production line to expand and size wheel rims after the roll forming process. It is composed of three main parts: the main unit, hydraulic power system, and control panel, all interconnected for synchronized operation.
Equipped with features like stroke completion sensors and pressure relays, the wheel rim expander press allows precise control over working pressure, speed, and stroke length, which can be adjusted to meet specific production requirements. With both manual and automatic modes, it offers a simple yet effective design that ensures accurate alignment and ease of operation. In a single process, it completes the expansion and sizing of wheel rims, making it an essential component in wheel manufacturing.

- This expander machine features a guide length six times longer than standard expanders, with precision alignment built into the frame to ensure coaxial positioning of both molds, greatly enhancing roll forming accuracy.
- An active dual-power expanding method is used that allows independent adjustment on each side of the rim. This setup effectively prevents variations in size due to inconsistent expansion speeds.
- The main slider operates on a linear guide rail, offering superior accuracy and stability in movement compared to traditional guide pillar designs.
- The expanding molds are securely mounted on the main slider, preventing any sagging during operation and ensuring consistent accuracy throughout the rim forming process.
- The molds feature an 18-faceted cone shape with inclined guiding surfaces, significantly extending mold lifespan and improving expanding precision.
- Each mold cone has a standard hole at the front for easy concentricity testing with a standard bar, ensuring mold alignment. The entire mold assembly can be removed for quick changeover when needed.
- A progressive grease lubrication system is used for all moving parts and mold sliding surfaces, with timed lubrication (using No. 0 or No. 1 grease) to ensure smooth operation.
- Its one-piece frame structure enhances overall rigidity compared to traditional four-column frames, ensuring stability and durability.
