Air Swept Ball Mill
Air swept ball mill is primarily used for grinding and drying coals with various hardness. Designed with a reasonable structure, it is usually made up with feed device, base bearing, rotating mechanism, transmission gear, discharge component, high pressure starting gear as well as lubricating system. It has been extensively applied in many areas such as cement industry, thermal power plants, metallurgical industry and chemical industry because it is able to ensure high grinding efficiency.
The ball mill is edge driven. To be specific, motor and speed reducer transmit torque force to big and small gears of the mill, thereby making the shell rotating.
When a feeding machine load the raw coals into the feed unit on the mill, hot wind with temperature about 300 ℃ will blow into the feed unit as through the air inlet pipe. At this time, the special lifting blades in the drying chamber will raise up the coals to increase the contact area, which further improves heat exchange efficiency. As a result, the coals will be quickly dried and then enter the grinding chamber through the double-layer diaphragm.
Coal lumps will be smashed to coal fines in the grinding chamber, which is partially filled with steel balls. Then, an exclusive induced draft fan will push the coal fines with desired size and the gas out of the mill though the discharge device, while an reverse spiral plate attached to the discharge device will deliver oversize particles back to the grinding chamber for regrinding.
