Floodlights are broad beamed, high intensity artificial lights most often used to illuminate outdoor areas during low-light conditions. The more focused the beam, the more likely it will be used in stage performances.
LED floodlights use an LED light source and have a better color rendering index, a higher luminous efficacy, and a longer lifespan than metal halide lights or sodium vapor lamps. LED flood lights are also widely used as a joint light source that illuminates in all directions evenly, and with an adjustable scope.
