Maowei sea suction dredger project
In 2016, the DGCSD300 cutter suction dredger has been put into use in Maowei sea project in Guangxi. Maowei sea is a relatively small inland lake, which is connected with South Sea with a river mouth and forms limited tidal variations and constantly of salt/fresh water. In the past decades, with the fast development of several cities and land reclamation, more and more sludge is accumulated in Maowei sea, which leads to decrease of water quality and water level. In order to protect the unique geographic position and promote local business and fishing, local competent department has already worked out three phases dredging project continuously.
The aim of the project is to keep at least 1 meter water depth for total 66 square kilometers’ lake surface at low tide. For the first phase dredging project, many dredging boats cannot carry out construction because they usually have deep draft and many places are not satisfied with their draft.
