A ball mill uses the rotation of a cylindrical drum filled with grinding media, like steel or ceramic balls, to crush materials into a fine powder through a combination of impact and friction. It can be used for either dry or wet grinding and is capable of processing a wide range of materials, including metal ore, coal, and ceramic raw materials.
Applications
- In the mining industry, ball mills are used for grinding ore to create a pulp of the correct particle size for subsequent ore dressing.
- In the chemical industry, they are used for powdering raw materials to improve the efficiency of chemical reactions.
- In the building materials industry, they are used for grinding cement and ceramic raw materials to improve product quality.
